I was in LWN library this afternoon. While i
was looking for my textbook in the reserves, i came across books such as
calculus, linear algebra, abstract algebra, real analysis, complex
analysis and etc.
I recalled those days when i was taking these modules. Although some
of them are quite difficult, i enjoyed learning and studying these
modules. Those were the days.
I don’t regret getting into this mathematics degree course and
specializing in applied mathematics. Although the jobs available are
limited. Although i may forget what i have learnt in these mathematics
modules.
But only if the maths modules that we took were more than the electives that we took.
Although I’m a mathematics major, i think i only got to learn a small
part of mathematics. Probably partly because mathematics is too vast
for us to learn all.
Modules such as coding theory, graph theory, number theory, galois
theory and algebraic topology… i didn’t manage to take all these
modules. If only I’m not so grade conscious, i would have taken number
theory and coding theory. Maybe i should one day borrow one of these
books and read up on my own.
Nevertheless, this maths journey is still enjoyable and fulfilling.
Now, i just hope it will end beautifully. :) and hope i can find a job
which i like and of course, can allow me to further my maths knowledge.
:D
